A Wild Horse In The Distancce

Distance a black arab mare had been looking for water for three days now she was thirsty and dying

.

Distance reared nervously she was scared of them

Jess dropped the stuff, only taking the feed and water with her. She put them in front of the mare, and stepped back, crouching down, and turning her back, so the mare wouldn't feel threatened.

Distance moved forward and took a drink then started drinking till in 25 seconds all the water was gone

Lucky that Jess hadn't filled up the bucket with much water, otherwise the mare could get extremely sick, she walked around the horse slowly, studying the mare. She seemed to be okay, apart from malnourishment.

Distance then started eating quickly then started backing up

Jess sighed, and looked at the mare. She seemed okay, apart from nerves. "You can stay here for a while, I think." She said, collecting her stuff, and walking slowly back up the paddock.

Distance whinned to the mare in the paddock

Jess looked around at the mare, and shook her head. Maybe she could put one of her mare's in there... Shaking her head again, she let herself out of gate, locking it behind her. She would leave the bottom gate open... Just in case.

Distance trotted through the bottem gate

Turning around once more, Jess watched the pretty mare trot off through the bottom gate. Her eyes watched the spot the fae had disappeared with regretful eyes. She knew that the mare would have an excellent value to her breeding and showing program.

Distance whinned she knew her prue arabian blood lines were worth alot

Distance whinned when would she ve trained when would she be given a show name and when would she be bred

Flicka, a small, petite Welsh Pony in the stall next to the Arab, looked at her.
"Distance, it will be okay. I heard that Jess was going out to get a stallion today, and sign up for a show for us." The palomino smiled at the fae, and nickered softly.

"She has not even trained me yet and how do you know my name"she asked

"It's on your name plate." The mare shrugged. "She will just take you to the show, to get used to it. If you behave nicely, she will ride you, see how good you are, and decide to train you, or keep you as a breeder."
The mare looked away, towards the stallion's barns. Her delicate little head raised and her nostrils flared as Jess' car came down the driveway.

"That makes no scence"she sais

The little mare looked at her with wise eyes. "She will test your natural ability. If you are good, she will train you, show you, then retire you to breeding. If not, she will work you a little, take you to a few shows, and breed you."

Jess pulled up in the driveway, and unloaded a large, Thoroughbred stallion. He was a light bay, with a star on his forehead, and black legs. He threw up his head, did a little rear and called out.

"Who is that hunk "she asked

Magick shrugged, and looked over to the stallion. He was good looking, purebred, and looked like he would compete well. "That's her new stallion."

The stallion threw up his head at a mare's voice and called out loudly again. His black mane lifted in the breeze, as he was lead to one of the pastures.

Jess growled under her breath, as she fought to control the stallion. She let him go in one of the paddocks, before going into the mare's barn

Distance whinned to Jess and she whinned and whinned

Jess smiled as she heard the mare's calls, and grabbed her lead, before coming up to her.
"Well, Distance. Today is the big day. What do you think of... Keeping the Distance, as your show name?" Jesseka rubbed the mare's forehead fondly, before clipping on her lead.

Distance bobbed her head "I Love It"she whinned and went where ever Jess went

Jess smiled, and led her over to the large truck. "Okay. Let's go to a show, girl!" She said, as she tied the mare to a ring, and went back to get Flicka.

Distance whinned she wanted to meet the hot stallion then she whinned to him "Hello"

The stallion put his head over the fence and nickered a greeting to the mare. "Hey there, gorgeous." He said, winking his kind, mischievous eye at her.

Jess returned with little Flicka, and tied her next to Distance. She went back into the barns to get her stuff.

Flicka looked at the stallion and arched her little neck. She raised her tail, and pranced on the spot, nickering to the stallion, who nickered back

Distance whinned and released her smell then whispered "I Call HIm Flicka"she said in a quiet whisper"then turned to him "Hi Im Keeping The Distance and who am i meeting"she asked

The stallion flared his nostrils, and pawed the ground, flicking his ears back. He backed away from the fence, before spotting Jess. He whinnied.

Flicka looked around, nickered to the stallion, then to Jess.

Jess came out to see Distance lifting her tail, and Frequency pacing. She growled a stream of swear words, before stomping over to Distance. "Hey! Cut that out! I'll put you with him soon enough!" She said, leading them both onto the truck.

Distance whinned Happily "Ha Flicka Burn"She whinne dsteppingn into the trailer


(2 hours ltaer they were there)

Distance whinned happily when she was led out this place was so new to her and she.................loved it the smells,the stallions,the mares,the dogsa,the grass and the oats the sweet sweet snmell if oats she loved it she waited to be tacked up and told what she waqs doing for the show "Flicka have you been here before"she asked the small pony "what are you doing in the show"she added then she nuzzled the pony in affection

Flicka turned her head away, ignoring the bigger mare as she was tacked up.

Jess came around with Distance's tack, and tacked her up. She was lucky she had broken the mare in before. She pulled the mare's ears gently. "Alright girl. We are just going to go in the lowest grades, okay. Just trust me, and be good!" She said, before getting on Flicka, and leading Distance behind her.

Distance whinned

After warming them up, Jess tied Distance to a post to watch her and Flicka, as they completed their dressage test flawlessly. She then patted Flicka, gave her a little food, and got on Distance, to do their test.

Distance trotted into the ring and then stopped right in the middle of the ring

Jess patted the mare, bowed, and gave Distance a nudge with her heels.

Distance whinned and started a walk then a trot then a canter then walk again then a trot again then she was done

Jess smiled, as she pulled the mare to a halt in the centre of the arena, bowed, then beamed widely, as she patted her mare on the neck. "Good girl!" She praised her, walking her out of the arena. "Jumping next!" She said, as she tied her up, still praising her, and switched Flicka's saddle over for her jumping saddle. "Okay, Flicka. Let's go kick some horsey butt!" She said, nudging the little, proud mare into a canter.

Distance went down her back hurt alot

Jess jumped off Flicka, tied her up, and ran over to Distance. "Distance? Distance, girl? Get up, please get up!" Jess cried, looking around at the gathering crowd. "Someone get a vet, now! GO!!" She screamed at them.

Distance got up but whinned in pain

Jess helped the mare up, and let her stand. She looked around, and sighed when a vet came.

Distance whinned and wanted to go in the trailer

Jess led the mare into the trailer, and watched as the vet did a quick study. After she was told it was just a minor strain, she led Flicka up the ramp too, who nickered to Distance, and drove home.

"That hurt but im fine now"she said

Flicka smiled weakly. "Yeah. It probably would have." The little mare nodded, coming down the ramp as they arrived.

Jess led both of the horses out in turn, and lead them towards their stables.

Distance whinned and walked toward the stallion

Frequencies arched his neck, nostrils flared as he pranced at the gate. He nickered to the mare, his body quivering.

Jess sighed, and pulled Distance gently. "Please girl. Tomorrow, I promise." She said, and pulled her and Flicka to the stables. After securely bolting the 2 foot bolts, and the top bolt, she led Flicka over to the paddock with Frequencies, and let her go, walking away to make up the feed.

(Okay. Would you like to bring in another stallion, to take Flicka away from Frequencies, let me continue playing Flicka, or you play Flicka?? I don't mind, but a twist in the plot would be good.)
