Gone with the Wind - A lost, wounded mare

A petite little mare entered the land, unknowingly. Her dished, Arabian head swiveled around to take in the sites, and her nostrils flared. Her white legs lifted high and proudly, but the blood dripped from a deep gash in her neck. She called weakly, before collapsing to the ground, her eyes closing slowly.

Gone With The Wind is a Pintabian mare. She has a black body, with a white head, and white zig-zagged liune down either side of her neck, going all the way around her body. She has white legs to just above her knees. her eyes are bright blue, she is 4 years old, in season, and has an excellent history of competition wins.

Ally had seen the mare fall anbd ran to her witha first aid kit and started ndageing her wounds

The mare had passed out for a while, and did not awaken until the girl had finished bandaging her neck up. She tried to stand up, but couldn't. The bandage around her little neck was stiff. She cried out, and with a bit of a struggle, she managed to get up. She stood on her shaking white legs, looking at the girl warily.

Ally stared at the mare then put a hkater and lead rope on her and put her in the injured horse paddock

The mare whimpered every time she stepped, because it pulled on her wound. She looked around at the empty paddock, and called out.

A Mare Named Lucky anwsered

Wind lowered her head a little, and called back, her ears flicking forwards and backwards.

Lucky whinned "What happened to you"

The mare bowed her head to the ground. She shook her skull slightly, and looked up at the mare with tired and pained eyes. "A... A stallion..." She mumbled, shuddering.

"How why When why"Lucky asked

I lay down with a whimper of pain under a tree, and looked up at the mare with unwavering eyes.
"It was only the day before last, and I am in season. I thought he loved me, because I loved him... But I was wrong." My voice hardened, and I looked away from the mare's steady gaze. "He tried to get to me, but I wouldn't let him... I didn't think I was ready." I sniffed, and looked into the dying sun.
"He got mad, so mad... He bit me, he kicked me, and he ran me for a day. He then pushed me over, but I still fought him, and that is how I got this." My blue eyes came back to earth, and I sighed. "He has scarred me... For life."

"Thats sad im so sorry"she said

"You have no idea." The mare said quietly.

(A week later, she is still in season, but healed.)

Wind stood up, and shook out her thin coat. She bobbed her head a few times, before trotting up to the gate, nickering for Ally.

"hey girl"Ally siad

The mare nickered, before nudging her pockets for a carrot... Or two.
